OUR WORK

At MOVE, we believe in using physical fitness and group counseling to help our youth develop skills needed to navigate the world ahead of them.

OUR WHY

Students in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas are falling victim to the school-to-prison pipeline.

It’s clear that schools and political systems must help address how unequal treatment in the classroom contributes to the  school-to-prison pipeline.

At the same time,  we believe it’s equally important to help scholars understand and address their inability to cope with the frustrations that stem from their environments, such as stress and conflict.

RACIAL DISPARITY IN SCHOOL

COMMUNITY VIOLENCE

Students of color struggle with Conflict Resolution. The lack of these skills are responsible for the rising number of fights and violence .

UNHEALTHY COPING MECHANISMS

HOW DID WE GET HERE

Black students in the United States are subject to disciplinary action at rates much higher than their white counterparts. These disciplinary actions put students at higher risk for negative life outcomes, including involvement in the criminal justice system.
